Hello, all,

I am happy to announce that this year's NEPSUL championship tournament
will be held as part of the St. Johnsbury Invitational.

+ NEPSUL at SJAI? What does this mean?

*	Each NEPSUL team is guaranteed six games over two days of
ultimate!
*	More than 40 Ultimate teams will be at the tournament, including
a girls division
*	A tournament dinner/swap meet/dance will take place on Saturday
night
*	Free lodging is provided for teams
*	Celebrate the end of AP exams!
*	Fabulous SJAI gear (discs, jerseys and t-shirts) will be for
sale
*	And, of course, we'll all be treated to that famous St.
Johnsbury hospitality and good spirit!

+ How does this work as a NEPSUL championship, you ask?

There will be an 8 team division for the NEPSUL teams, meaning that we
will be able to have a tournament within a tournament. The top-seeded 8
NEPSUL teams will be in this division, and any other NEPSUL teams that
attend will be placed in the B Pool, where the level of play is geared
more towards JV and less-experienced teams. The idea is that all teams
in attendance will have a chance to play some evenly-matched games.

+ So, what next?

*	Visit the SJAI website: http://www.sjainvite.org/
*	Follow the directions for submitting a bid -the date for NEPSUL
bids is 2/22 at the latest! If they are postmarked by 2/15, even better
*	The cost per NEPSUL team is $200 - note that this is in-line
with the cost for previous NEPSUL tourneys.
*	Note that dinner is an additional $6 a person

ALL players and coaches must be UPA members, and rosters must be
submitted to the UPA no later than April 11, and as early as possible,
as this is an important issue, and one of the largest headaches for a
tournament director.

+ I know it is important, but it is so hard to get my team signed up for
the UPA and submit our rosters...

One suggestion is to have one of your first practices in the computer
lab: Bring stamped envelopes and pens so that players can mail their
forms in to the UPA, and their waivers to their parents. Have the
players bring credit cards, checks, or cash to pay for their
memberships. No fuss, no muss!

This should be a great event, and having a two day tournament is an
indication of the growth of the NEPSUL, which is exciting to see.

Please let me, or Josh Seamon (jseamon at gmail.com) the Tournament
Director, know if you have any questions, and we'll look forward to
seeing you at St. J this spring!

Sincerely,

Dave
